Salar Jung Museum, located at Dar-ul-Shifa in Hyderabad, Telangana is one of the three National Museums of India. It houses a collection of over 1 million artefacts from the 18th and 19th century. Some of the displays include paintings, carvings, textiles, clocks, carpets and furniture from India, Nepal, Burma, China, Japan, Persia, Egypt, Europe and North America. Salar Jung Museum is spread out on two floors and has 38 galleries.
I spent many hours at the Salar Jung Museum. If you have a love for history, don’t rush through the exhibits. Although you can also click pictures of the artefacts, I suggest you see them through your eyes and not those of your phone camera!
