You are what you speak. Words once said cannot be taken back. Some of us have the habit of saying “I know!”, don’t we ? Common as it may sound, there are actually two ways of saying it, if you went on to analyse your statement.
Firstly, you can emphasize on the ‘I’, showing your greatness and that you think that only you know it.
Secondly, you may choose to empasize on the ‘know’, which says that you ,indeed, know whereas you may know that you know, may know that youdon’t know or may don’t know that you don’t know.
We also use it when someone starts lecturing us. ‘C’mon, I know!!’, we say.
So, the next time you say “I know!”, try to find out what prompted you to say it. I’m sure it will be one of the above!
